A Country Home & a Few Key Upgrades
Tucked into the countryside outside Chesnee, South Carolina, this two-year-old home had plenty going for it. The home itself was in solid shape, but the homeowner had a growing wish list of projects that would make it truly feel like hers.
At the top of that list: a comfortable outdoor living space. With open land, fresh air, and wildlife wandering through the yard at any given time, the homeowner wanted to enjoy her morning coffee outside while watching the deer cross the yard and soaking in the peacefulness of nature without battling mosquitoes, critters, rain, or the intense South Carolina heat. She needed a screened-in porch that would give her the outdoor experience without the outdoor hassles.
Inside, the master bathroom shower was still builder-grade. After two years of living with a basic setup, she was ready for the dream shower she had been picturing since moving in. This meant a full remodel that would require demolition, waterproofing, precise tile work, plumbing updates, and new fixtures.
And then there was the garage. Without proper shelving, it had become a catch-all for everything that didn't have a home inside the house. Tools, seasonal items, and supplies were stacked and scattered, making the space frustrating to use.
Three very different projects. Three different skill sets. Most homeowners in this situation would end up calling multiple contractors, juggling competing schedules, and hoping the work comes together. This homeowner wanted something simpler: one trustworthy team to handle all of it efficiently, professionally, and with genuine care for her home.
A Screened-In Porch Built for Everyday Living
The Your Trusty Toolbox crew designed and built a fully screened outdoor living area that connects seamlessly to the home. The screening provides complete protection from insects, debris, and the local wildlife that make country living charming but sometimes inconvenient. Rain, wind, and the summer heat are no longer barriers to spending time outside.
A screened porch like this effectively extends the home's usable living space without the cost or complexity of a full addition. It's one of the most impactful upgrades a homeowner in Upstate South Carolina can make, and it's a project our team handles from start to finish.
Garage Shelving
Inside the garage, the crew installed sturdy shelving designed to maximize utility and overhead storage space. It's a straightforward project, but one that makes an big difference in day-to-day life. Everything now has a designated spot and the garage is finally functioning the way it should. This is the kind of practical, no-nonsense work that our handyman services are made for.
A Master Bathroom Dream Shower
The bathroom remodel centered on transforming the master shower from a forgettable builder-grade setup into a custom-designed feature the homeowner had been dreaming about for two years. The scope of work was significant: full demolition of the old shower, meticulous waterproofing, precise tile installation, and updated plumbing fixtures and hardware throughout.
What makes a project like this especially demanding is the range of trades involved. Plumbing, tile work, waterproofing, and finish carpentry all have to come together cleanly in a single, cohesive result. Rather than hiring separate specialists for each component and managing the coordination headaches that come with it, the homeowner relied on the Your Trusty Toolbox team to handle every aspect of the build under one roof.
The Trusty Toolbox Difference
All three projects were completed in approximately two weeks. The team showed up when they said they would, communicated clearly throughout every phase, and treated the homeowner's property with the same care they'd give their own. Work areas were protected, debris was cleaned daily, and the final walkthrough ensured every detail met expectations before the crew packed up.
However, what makes this project stand out isn't just the care of our crew or the quality of the finished work. It's the breadth of what was accomplished in just two weeks by one locally owned team. A screened outdoor living structure, a full shower renovation, and custom garage storage, all coordinated without the homeowner having to manage multiple contractors or chase down conflicting schedules.
