This home's carport was in good shape and didn't need any major renovations, but our team installed new vinyl siding to give it a lift. We also updated the gable vents to help them last a little bit longer without the need for replacement.
Gable Vent Repairs and Replacements
This house has had a couple of Your Trusty Toolbox updates this year, including brand new soffits and fascias. To continue this fresh exterior, we couldn't ignore the gable vents and louvers. Above the carport, the gable vent was in good shape so there was no need to replace it, but our team wrapped the louvers in aluminum to increase their durability. This cost-effective trick helps protect wood from weathering and extends its lifespan. Bonus: it also looks good! See the picture below.
Besides the carport, this house had another gable vent that needed attention. As part of the front porch makeover, our team replaced the round gable vent above the front porch. Together with the remodeled front porch and all the other exterior updates, this new round gable vent (pictured in the Before & After photo at the top of this page) brings together the overall aesthetic of the home.
Miscellaneous carport updates
The carport needed a bit of a clean and some fresh siding so our team installed vinyl siding on the walls. This is a great option for carports because vinyl is weather-resistant . Since it's in a covered area, it should last the homeowner a long time!
